SHOW LAYTON YOUR TALENT IV As the lights hit the stage at the first annual Show Layton Your Talent competition, a special tradition was born. This year, we kick-off the season with a special Broadway edition of our annual talent show. This year the audience chooses all three winners. In all, nearly $2,000 will be awarded to the stars of the future. Keep a close watch on your favorites because they will need your vote to win.
DAVID CASSIDY Pop culture icon and Partridge Family heartthrob David Cassidy has been dedicated to his craft for over four decades. With a unique ability to re-invent himself and adapt to numerous genres, he has earned dedicated fans from all over the world. From concerts to theater, television to Las Vegas. David Cassidy appears on the season with a special tribute to his friend Davy Jones of the Monkees, who was scheduled to perform on the 2012 season.
THURL BAILEY & THE AMP'D UP BAND After a successful run with the Utah Jazz and the Minnesota Timberwolves, Thurl Bailey embraced the opportunity to explore his other talents. He has a strong passion for music and has recorded three albums. He defines his sounds as an uplifting fusion of R&B and Nu Soul. Joining Mark Robinette’s Amp’d Up Band, Thurl is excited to be performing at the Kenley as part of the 2012 season.
A TRIBUTE TO PETER PAUL & MARY AND SIMON & GARFUNKEL A night of folk and fun. A tribute to Peter, Paul, & Mary and Simon & Garfunkel! Take a stroll down memory lane. Act I of the show will be your favorite Peter, Paul, & Mary hits like Blowin’ in the Wind and Puff The Magic Dragon performed by a tribute band from Las Vegas. Then Act II is all about Simon & Garfunkel’s hit list, like Feelin’ Groovy, Scarborough Fair, and Bridge Over Troubled Waters, performed by Code Blue. This is a night to celebrate the music beloved by many generations.
THE SOCIETY COMEDY TROUPE Make a plan to be spontaneous and join Davis Arts Council for a night of Comedy Improv with The Society Show, featuring Utah film star Kirby Heyborne. Made popular by the famous TV show “Who’s Line Is It Anyway?,” improv comedy is when a cast or team of actors/comedians work together to create spontaneous scenes, songs, monologues, etc. Join us for a night of laughter and song.
